Who offers the cheap home owner's insurance?
I recently purchased new town home and I need your advice on cheap (nice) home owner's insurance.
It varies wildly. A lot of companies don't WANT to insure a town nome, if there is no master policy - because THEN what you have is a rowhouse.
You're going to have to call to a few local agents to get quotes. ANY "A" rated carrier is fine, but you'll have to be sure you have adequate coverage for YOUR situation.

How did you manage to even get the loan without providing Home Owner's Insurance?
Check with a local insurance agent... rates vary greatly in the country and there are local and regional insurance carriers you will never know about unless you ask a LOCAL AGENT.
