Why do so many insurance agents on Y!A answer previously answered questions when they have nothing to add?
Are they just desperate for the two points?
Additional Details
To me, it's silly to have a post saying something so identical to another that there was no added value. I get the point about agreement among multiple opinions, but often this collective "expert" opinion is dead wrong. Life insurance is a good example. This forum has many agents who offer a wealth of information, but I have yet to find anyone besides myself here who has a deep understanding of life insurance. I often state that life insurance is a financial instrument that should never be bought from someone who is not involved in the client's comprehensive financial planning. To someone with an insurance mentality, it's just insurance.

I often read that whole life is a "rip-off," or cash value described as an attached savings component. Such statements indicate a tremendous ignorance regarding the purpose and application of cash value. Anyone who says that one type of life insurance is inherently more costly than another simply doesn't understand life insurance.

Maybe they are hoping that someone will see their answer and buy insurance from them.

In my case, for example, I go through and open questions in new tabs, with no answers.

Sometimes, I type quite lengthy answers, and by the time I hit the "submit answer" button, other people have already answered, and I didn't see it.

Sometimes, to get an accurate answer, there needs to be a little research, and someone else beats me to it.

In any case, if multiple agents are all telling someone the same thing, that usually means MORE to them, than a bunch of thumbs up on one answer.

Just desperate for two points.

And does it hurt to have a chorus of knowledgeable people all giving the same advice? I'd take that as more reputable and trustworthy than just one answer. (oh wait, this has already been said. maybe i shouldn't have answered)
