Agnostic-Pandeist WITH THOUGHT!
Why do they call it "life" insurance? ?

It seems that there was some confusion on how to describe insurance. I believe it's more appropriate to call it *life* insurance rather than death insurance, because you are insuring your life. Just like you get car insurance and house insurance. Within those policies you may have coverage for certain events, such as theft and accidents for cars, flood for homes, death for life.

Not too long ago, up here in Canada, we used to have Unemployment Insurance, but they renamed it to Employment Insurance since you want to insure your employment, not your unemployment. Especially since that fund is used for more than just unemployment, it pays for maternity leaves and education and training.

I suggest you look into Cookie insurance if you want to protect your assets!

Don't cha?
To cover for those you love when your "LIFE" is gone.

Ψ Mr. Jack Ψ
So you are insured when something happens to your life, hence the term.

because no one wants something called "in-case-you-die insurance"

I don't know why but it bother me, too. If a policy pays out when you die, I think it should be called death benefits.

'Cause when you die, you'll leave funds for your family to live on.

Because it covers your life in case of loss. Same as car insurance protects your car in case of loss. Or medical in case something medical happens to you.
