Angie B | Why do you have to pay an outrageous price for home insurance if you have a Rottweiler? |

you got a real man dog,if you had one of those queer dogs like a peekapoo with a bow in its hair you wouldn't have any problems |

Yes, you might.
Some insurers won'y insure you with that breed.
Others only require you to certify that your dog is not dangerous.
Either way, you should make certain to get a Personal Umbrella Liability policy in case your dog does hurt somebody and you get sued for more than the liability limits of your homeowner's policy.
Most HO policies have a $50,000 liability limit and if the dog really badly hurts somebody or worse, you'll get sued for more than the $50,000.
So, do you have a plan to pay more than that? If you are not better insured, you could lose other assets like your house or bank account.
Another option: separately insure your dog for liability. Then buy a HO policy with a dog exclusion. |

Because insurance underwriters are fearful of any dog larger than a toy poodle. Life is tough. Deal with it. |

Becuase rottweilers were not bred to be house pets. They were bred to be working dogs. They attack at a higher rate than most other dogs. if you ran an insurance company, you'd do the exact same thing. |

To protect you if/when you get sued for a dog bite. |

because actuarial statistics show that only pimps and drug dealers have Rottweillers. Nice people have Labradors. Crims tend to mingle with crims, leading to a likliehood of having their property turned over or shot up. |

because rottweilers have the wonderful talent of being able to mutilate small children or maul people to near death. |

Because of the high instances of dog bites that come from Rotties. Also, many apartment and condo complexes won't allow Rotties, Dobies, Pit Bulls, or German Sheperds for that reason. |

Because Rottweilers have been known to attack people on more than one occassion and you have to be prepared for that. I think it's the same if you own a pit bull.... |
|

yes darling
|
because if you set your dog on a robber you'll end up getting sued by the robber for protecting your house! |

call a different insurance company and this time don't mention the dog! |
