No clue. Many companies don't even ask that question because it has no medical relevance or any scientific proof that use of one hand makes your live shorter. For example, when you type or carrying something big or doing some sort of chore like washing dishes, don't you use both hands? You might use one hand more often for writing, but how often are people really writing stuff (unless you are in school or taking some sort of class)? |

I once read in a science journal that different handed people have different tendency to get life threatening disease and have different lifespan over a course of few years. However, this is only based on statistical data. I suspect this might be a reason insurance company want to know whether you are right or left handed.
I read about this long time ago so I do not know where to find it again. You can try do a little google search if you want to find out more. |

Statistically the majority of "things" in life are made for right handed people. The lefty's are a minority. Therefore actuarial
speaking present a greater probability of a loss or fatality. |
