Wow two sentences in one! Your question and statement are completely unrelated and uniformed! People don't join for the same reason people don't vote, they just don't care. Why are they against tasers? Tasers save lives by allowing police to subdue dangerous individuals instead of killing them or seriously harming them. If some one has a knife, the officers life is in danger at 30-20' or less(a thrown knife is potentialy lethal at this distance). So they in many cases have two options, risk thier life and try and disarm the person, or two, shoot them with a taser causing very little physical harm. If you remove the taser, what will they likely shoot the person with? Love and compasion? No, they shoot them with a normal handgun and cause serious body damage, possibly death, and put people nearby in danger because the bullet might miss or fragment. I hope this has been informative. |

So what can the police use...we took away their guns and for the most pat their nightsticks and we give them battery powered "weapons" and hot sause in a spray gun....
The ACLU wanted lethat weapons gone and now they want the non-lethal ones gone as well.

Yeah some of us have heart conditions and could die from taser use and cops in the US use them ALL THE TIME!
Cops don't get put on administrative leave or have to full out a bunch of paperwork when they shoot someone with a taser like they do when they use a gun, and they're starting to use them for all kinds of purposes.
The company says that they save lives because they reduce the use of deadly force, but in reality police departments who have taser guns actually increase police shootings up to 1000% if you count taser discharges as "shootings".
Kind of blows apart the BS argument that cops and the company make that cops only use tasers when they would have used guns in the past. It's all BS. They actually use tasers about 10 times more than they use guns.
The other answers are completely naieve if they think police only use tasers where they would have used a gun in the past. Check your facts. |
