Vijay, its not the insurance company that is fooling the people it is the agents.
Since ULIPs offer them hefty commissions, they sell ulips to people who least know about what a stock market is. They are the ones who are cheating our people...
Reg. IRDA: This has already come to the notice of the IRDA and IRDA is planning to have a few certifications completed by all such agents before they can sell any insurance products. The curriculum for those certifications are under discussion now.
We cannot put the entire blame on the agent alone, our people are greedy. when someone tells us, your money would double in 3 years we dont even ask how. we just put your money into it. then when a stock market crash happens, we complain that we were cheated. Part of the blame lies in us also.
Am i right dude??

He should undertake a thorough study of the product.
Complete information of ULIPs is available on the web sites of insurance companies. They also have a benefit illustration.
People don't take out time to study all this.
So it is not the insurance company that is to be blamed.

I apologize on behalf of my country for your previous answers. If they don't understand that the rest of the world wasn't born to the English language then they should confine themselves to reading the USA questions only....
The answer to your question is likely that it's not the company fooling the people as much as the agent. There is a purpose for the product, but if it's sold improperly then it doesn't mean the product is bad...just inappropriate for the situation.
It could be that or also the desire to make money.... |

If you think an insuance company is doing something wrong then call your Dept. of Insurance or Insurance Commissioner in your state and file a complaint.

?What? Anyway, insurance companies are just out to make money by selling policies to people but not fully covering them. I've dealt with insurances that have denied paying for Inhalers for children who have asthma stating it's not medically necessary. Stupid! |
