The only benefit would be in purchasing something to lock in the low cost of a whole life or universal life plan. There is no point in locking in a term rate becuase it will go up eventually anyways!
If you have debts, kids or anything like that it would also be beneficial.
Depending on exactly how old you are, you may qualify for Gauranteed insurability, where you are eligible to purchsase more insurance down the road without providing medical evidence. This is key if you get diagnosed with smething and become uninsurable down the road, you will still be able to get insurance.
It also depends on your goals and where you live. If you live in a country like Canada, where a Universal Life policy is endorsed as a legal tax shelter, it might be good to start one to build an estate or a resource for tax free income in your retirement years.
Also, whether you are young and single or old and married, a funeral still costs money and someone will have to pay for it. There is no magic system that pays for it if people don't have money. No money = no funeral. |

the younger you are when you buy the insurance; they lesser would be the cost. being single and young today does not mean that you would not become married and old later. |

You should take out life insurance when you are young because you are able to get it at the best possible price while being in the best possible health. As you get older it becomes dearer to buy and sometimes you are unable to get insured because you may no longer be fit.
When you buy life insurance you should consider buying Term Life Insurance. This is the lowest priced insurance available. It only pays out upon your death and has no saving built into the premium. The premium will increase each year, but because it starts off at an very low rate even when you reach middle age it is still cheaper than other forms of life insurance. The annual premium for $1,000,000 of cover for somebody 25 years of age next birthday would be approximately $765.
By the way, another type of insurance you should also consider very seriously, is Sickness and Accident Insurance. This protects your income when you are unable to work due to a sickness or accident. |

There are several reasons a young person who is single may want to buy life insurance:
1. To pay for your final expenses, including burial, funeral, casket, and plot.
2. To pay off your existing debt, including credit cards, loans, home loan, auto loan, college tuition loans, etc.
3. To leave money for any person who relies on you for financial support.
4. To leave money to your family members.
5. To leave money to pay off your estate taxes.
6. To leave money to a charity.
7. To guarantee future coverage and lock-in lower rates for your life insurance.
These are a few reasons you may want to buy life insurance. |

Tinku,
If you do not have any dependants then you probably don't need life insurance...
Insurance is something that we hear all the time. Car Insurance, Bike Insurance, Health Insurance Personal accident Insurance, there are a whole bunch of insurance products available.
What is Insurance?
Insurance is nothing but an agreement between the insurer (The Insurance Company) and the insured (You) to pay an amount as compensation if any unexpected event occurs. This amount may vary from a few hundred to even a few crores. The maximum amount the insured person can claim depends on the amount agreed upon as per the insurance policy.

Because there is no alternative to life insurance.
Because the earlier in life you take, cheaper you get. |

he only reason i would say to do so is if you are in debt and don't want to leave that burden to your family if you were to die. Other than that, I don't see it necessary as a young person usually doesn't have any dependents to care for. Another thing that is coming to mind is that you are healthy when you're young, so it will be cheaper now than if you wait. It would suck if you get ill and can't get insurance when you're older because of health issues. |

Maybe that youngster should be more concerned about spelling and grammar and less about life insurance. |

The longer you wait to buy a policy, the harder and more expansive it will be to get. So it's only really not worth getting a life insurance policy if you are absolutely sure you will never get married or have kids or anything like that. |
