Unless they changed their claims handling, the stereo would be covered IF it is permenently installed in the same place the factory intented it to be installed at.
HOWVER, any "other" modiifications or additions would required an endorsement such as amps and speakers |

You would have to have your receipt before it would be considered at all. And the deductible applies, so if your deductible is more than the stereo cost you, there is no point in pursuing it. |

Only if 1. you scheduled it under "customizing equipment" and 2. it was permanently installed. |

They should if your deductable if lower than the amount of the stereo. However, if you have a $500 deductable and it's a $250 stereo, you won't get any coverage. |

So many people get a difficult education over this issue.
The standard auto policy will only cover the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) stereo. After-market stereos are NOT covered unless you get an endorsement (rider) for the item through your agents office. It will cost extra dollars but it's worth it if you get your stuff stolen. The equipment must also be permanently installed into the vehicle.
I have seen so many people, especially young folks, lose their you know what on stereo claims. |

Any insurance company will only insure items that you have a receipt for and filed on your policy.Otherwise, if you had renter's insurance then all of your items purchased outside of the vehicle will be covered. So, the answer to your question is no.sorry. |
