Our house got broken into when we were at school and work. When I came home everything was thrown all over and we were missing alot of things. Like 2 Ipods, 2 digital cameras, dvd player, PSP, DS, 3 spare cell phones, jewelry and some designer clothes. We have home insurance im not sure what kind though.I think Liburtary Mutural or something like that. Will they cover everything that was stolen . We also totaled up everything and they stole about $2700.00 worth of stuff or maybe more. Will the insurance cover that plus the window they broke to get in? |

If you have theft coverage, they will cover it. If you have building coverage, the window will be covered, also, but may be under the deductible.
Keep in mind, most policies have theft limitations built in for jewelry among other things, but if your total loss is under $3,000, it doesn't sound like it's expensive jewelry. |

they will if you have replacement coverage. Else you will fill out forms with the about dates of purchase and they can deduct for use and depreciation. Once that is totaled then they will give you a check less your deductible |

Yes, your policy will cover you. For all the electronics, get the receipts and other proof that you actually had the items (old boxes, user manuals etc.)
You'll next need to see what your deductible is. Before you file the claim, make sure to ask if your rates will be affected, or worse, if you could be dropped. Your agent can find this out for you before you file a claim. Having this info makes you more informed to make an educated decision.
Your window will also be covered since it was a result of the same incident. |
