Nope, you would have to prove liability on the homeowner and you can't. You are on your own for this one and you will need to go under your auto policy. |

Probably not, considering you hit the can and it didn't blow or roll into your car. You may not have seen it right away but most likely they will say it could been avoiding on your part. The only way to know for sure is to speak to the homeowners and get their insurance info and try filing a claim with them. |

I seriously doubt it. Even if you filed a cliam with them, their defense would be that you damaged your car somewhere else. |

I'm going to guess no, but the only way to find out for sure is to speak with the owner of the garbage can and find out who is their insurance agent. I wouldn't expect them to be extremely pleased with it. Then call up that office and ask.
