Jewelry only has limited coverage unless you purchased a separate rider and provided an appraisal of it. Otherwise, no.

Does the homeowners policy include theft? And how much were the rings worth?
The standard homeowners includes a LIMITED amount of coverage for jewelry - usually $1200. You can also specifically insure jewelry, so it covers higher values - but it costs more. Some policies won't cover theft, or will only cover theft on premises.
But we have no way of knowing what TYPE of homeowners policy you're talking about.

You need to ask your insurance agent, or read over your policy for a definite answer. However, I borrowed an emerald & diamond ring from my mom. It was stolen from my home, not hers. The insurance company paid her for it.
