Will i have to pay this much even WITH insurance?
im 14. but i was looking up a therapist on this website in my area cause i think i have some dissociation disorder or something. and this is some of the info on her page:
Probably not. Unless your insurance is not on the list of ones accepted. BUT, you have to adhere to the limitations of your plan - you might just have a copay, but some plans only pay 50% of the charges, leaving you to pick up the other 50%. I say be prepared to pay more, but hope to pay less. That way, it avoids ugly surprises.

Does your insurance have a co pay? Then typically no. That price is probably the cash price for no insurance.

Call the insurance compnay. Mental health issues are treated differently....even if you have a copay for other office visits....

Ask your parents. They should be dealing with cost and not you. Are you planning to go there and not tell them?
If this person takes your insurance then you probly do not have to pay for the sessions. And since they take a sliding scale, that means if you can not afford the whole amount they will allow you to pay less.
Call them for more ino. But your parents should be taking care of the money.

Unless you have been emancipated, and are covered with insurance in your own name, you are covered under any insurance policy your parents/guardians may be paying for your insurance benefits.
Should you not be emancipated, your parents/guardians are responsible for contacting any insurance carrier they may have to determine the amount payable to a therapist.

Ask your goddamn parents. Thats what theyre for. To pay for stuff.

no, most will have a copay, so you pay maybe $10-15 out of pocket. good luck!
