Sort of. But the insurance policy would only give you money for a used powerbook minus the deductible on your policy.
So there is no real coverage on most policies and your rates would likely go up simply for reporting the loss. |

No, under the standard HO-3 contract that most people have it is not covered for accidental breakage.
However, you could have coverage (subject to a deductible) if you purchased the more expensive HO-5 form (very few people opt for that form due to the cost).
The other possibility is to have scheduled your computer, all companies offer a special endorsement to cover personal computers. If you purchased that coverage the computer would be covered for breakage.
Only way to be sure is to call your agent. |

Not unless you have the computer specifically listed on a rider on the policy.
Homeowners policies (HO3 and HO5) don't cover if you drop a lamp, spill paint on a rug or tear a painting unless THAT lamp, THAT rug and/or THAT painting are specifically listed and you pay an additional premium for the broader coverage.
HO-5's DO offer broader coverage for jewelry and furs and a few other items, but not computers.
So, unless you have a separate rider for the computer you're out of luck on this one, my friend. Sorry! |

This would not be covered under the standard Homeowners Policy (HO3).
The coverage for contents on an HO policy is named peril. That means - that if order for it to be covered the cause of the damage has to be specifically listed. None of the named perils would cover this.
There is a peril for "falling objects" but this does not mean the object fell. It means an object falls -makes a hole in the structure and then damages the personal property.
Also- dropping you plat panel tv is also not covered.
However, if you are not sure or want to double check, call your agent and ask them. |

~~It is not a normally covered issue with homeowners insurance.
If you purchased it with a credit card, check out the coverage with them. Many times they cover this exact sort of accident.

Go back to Mac...most likely they will replace the screen. Don't bother with homeowner's....your deductible is more than the laptob is worth. |
