Will my insurance cover medical bills from a month before?
Okay, so I recently changed my medical insurance to the correct one a month before I was hospitalized then I got a bill a month later, and a couple weeks later I got my medical insurance card. Will my insurance cover my medical bill from my hospitalization if I never had medical insurance, it is through my employer?
IF you had insurance a month before you were admitted to the hospital, then yes, it will be covered. If you were not insured at the time of admittance, then it will not be covered. There are no tricky formulas here - either you were insured or you weren't.

You need to verify the date your coverage became active.
When it's through work, you are generally only covered while you are employed and often not the first month after you are hired...the fact that your medical card arrived 2 months after the event, it doesn't sound like you were covered.

If you didn't obtain coverage until after you went into the hospital, it is a pretty complicated answer.
If you were covered by a previous employer - changed jobs - and are now covered by a new employer - and never had any kind of break in coverage (even one day) - you are covered.
If it didn't apply as described above - you are likely not covered.
Call the insurance company - ask them. They'll give you an honest answer

If your policy was effective before the date you were admitted to the hospital, you are covered. If not, you aren't.

If your coverage was in place at the time of service, it should be covered. It doesn't matter if you didn't have your card yet.
