Wow, you don't need a lawyer for five over. He'll charge you $500 to show up. Every state is different, but you'll probably get it reduced to a parking ticket and maybe school. Parking tickets don't affect your insurance. If you have a clean record the judge should be lenient. |

Usually speeding ticket that are not that far over the speed limit doesn't affect your insurance, but it still can. It really depends on which insurance company you go through. You should just tell your parents that you got a speeding ticket. You were only going 5 miles over which is really not that bad and it will show your parents that you taking responsibility for your actions. They will be more mad at you if they find out you got a speeding ticket and you didn't tell them yourself. |

yes! get a lawyer. he will either get the ticket dismissed or you'll be charged with a non-moving violation. or if you are eligible go to traffic school
that makes no sense. if he marked it over 5 you should get at least 1 point. |

try to pay the fine and get it dismissed even if you have to take the court supervision thingy (ie no tickets within a year or whatever the judge says). I don't think you need your parents to show up in court. The town just wants your money anyways.
Actuaries sit around and calculate the accident risk of people who get speeding tickets and those that don't. This is why your rates will go up. It is surprisingly accurate, as is age and gender. |
