I doubt it but it depends on your plan. Usually the child would only be able to be covered under your insurance if you are the guardian. You would have to file for custody.
Call your husbands HR or Benefits department and ask. |

Usually, grandchildren are not covered unless the grandparent adopts the child. But the rules are spelled out in your policy and the rules are different with every policy. The only way to get the answer is to ask your carrier or HR dept. |

I don't think grandchildren are ever covered under someones employment insurance. Just spouses and children, not the children's children. |

No. The ex gf isn't covered under your husband's plan, either.
The baby isn't your dependent. Unless the girl relinquishes all parental rights to the baby, and you and your husband adopt the baby, the baby cannot be on your husband's health insurance. |

Why would the ex-gf be covered? They are not even married.
I hope she has health insurance or she can apply for Medi-cal, the state's health insurance welfare program. That is where people go when they get pregnant too soon.
And,that is considered rape. Please let him know so he does not continue this behavior. And, I know 18 is a danagerous age. Make sure he also knows he can not have sex with anyone under 18 after he turns 18 because that is having sex with a minor that is a very serious charge.
Just trying to be helpful. |

Most insurances will allow the child of a minor to be covered. It is easier if they have your stepson's name (which should be the same as your husband's). My sister had my nephew at 20 and gave the baby the father's name and my mom had to explain to the insurance over and over again that this was her grandson. They thought she was trying to add someone else's child or something.
I meant minor in that he is covered under you insurance- dependant is probably a better word. |
