As per IRDA's statement all the Pvt Insurance companies are in heavy loss. Except SBI life,SriRam Life insurance which are in just break even level all the companies are facing very huge downfall.Unless & other wise if they worked cost effective and made their investment pot folio balanced they may vanished in due course. At present except LIC all other insurance companies made their investments heavily in ULIP plans alone, which leads them towards heavy loss in present trend.

million dollar question. it is worth refreshing our memory. UTI was public mutual fund; supported by a special statute. IT HAD TO BE BAILED OUT BY TAX PAYERS MONEY. hence the question of private or public does not have much sanctity. the regulators i.e. IRDA appears to be serious in their job and should take guard of the health of the industry and less informed general public's money. liberalisation should not spoil the health. hope for the good. however, time alone can give the right answer. centuries old banks have failed and continue to fail in other parts of the world; (so called developed part of the world !!) |

Yes. They will survive. Infact, now days, it is the private insurance sector which has grabbed a larger share of pie with their market share expanding at a fastest pace. Moreover, with IRDA governing the activities of pvt. sector insurance companies, there is no need to worry about anything. Be assured.
