bemmer71 | With Presidential election looming, do you have adequate health and life insurance ? |
God forbid anything should happen, but are you and your family adequately covered in both health and life insurance coverage ! Could you afford your medical costs if they exceeded $50,000 ?
How will your situation help you decide which candidate to cast your vote for ? |

I have an employer sponsored plan.
I like Obama's health care plan better. I do not like McCain taxing my employer health benefits and the 5000 tax credit he offers is not enough to cover the cost of a private plan. Obama's health care plan was one of many issues that I considered.
I will be voting Obama/Biden 2008. |

I have adequate health insurance.
I do not need life insurance.
I could afford $50,000 in medical costs.
None of this will affect my decision as to the candidate for whom I vote on Tuesday. |

no I can't afford the insurance, I can't even afford a doctor, let alone going to the hospital.
and yes I'm voting for Obama, because I really don't want another term of the same crap we have now. |

Yes. My situation will not help me decide which candidate I support. I will make an informed decision relating to which candidate I believe will do the best job leading our nation. |

I'm amazed at how many people think George Bush is running again. They should be very fearful of a white house, house, and senate all controlled by one party. I don't care which candidate that you support, but if you don't see the problem with that then you have issues.
As far as which candidate, it won't matter because neither will make any great strides in health care. It just won't happen. |

I am currently living outside of the US in a socialist state. I could claim medical treatment of over 2 million dollars including emergency room treatment, hospital treatment and rehabilitation. This is paid for out of my taxes, and it costs me LESS than a $100,000 policy would cost me in the US. It also covers spouses and children at no extra cost.
I still have the option of taking out a private medical treatment policy or paying up front fro private treatment even though I am in a socialist state.
I am better off under this scheme than I would be under either McCain or Obama. However I favor Obama not because I need his health care plan but because other people need it. Medical bills are one of the biggest causes of personal bankruptcy in the US. And in 21st Century USA this is unacceptable.
If you are middle class and you get sick and can't work you may have no choice but to file for bankruptcy. Obama would raise the threshold for filing, McCain would lower it, meaning that many more Americans would be forced to file for bankruptcy under McCain as they could not afford to pay for their medical bills.
I know that this would cost me more in tax, but I consider it to be worth it. Kids whose families are driven to the wall because of medical bills are much more at risk of turning to crime or drugs, or both.
Every dollar spent saving American families from medical bankruptcy is a dollar that society won't need to be spent picking up the pieces either through the courts, jails or social services. |

Health insurance, yeah. Life insurance I haven't bought yet.
I live in Massachusetts, which means I have to pay for the health insurance of 400,00 of my states' lame and lazy as well as my own. So, I won't be buying life insurance anytime soon.
That's the price you pay in this blue state toilet for being stupid enough to support yourself. In less than 3 years this program has contributed greatly to our $2,000,000,000 dollar budget deficit.
I'm plainly voting for the non-Socialist, although in this state, it's practically a wasted vote. |
