No. What could we trade for what we need? You can't just expect companies and people to keep producing products and doing services for nothing. How would you get food? If you didn't have a product or special skill of your own you'd starve to death. |

I perceived the question to be cashless as in we paid for everything using debit cards, or bar codes tatooed on our wrists or something. Think about how many jobs in the economy would be lost if cash or coin weren't used.
Large reduction in bank tellers, mint workers, vault people, armored car dudes, atm people, counterfitters.
And people with illegal businesses would find it more difficult to accept payment. Drug and arms dealers, immigrant smugglers, etc. All Large Deposits or Withdrawls could be reviewed by the government and IRS. What a lovely world. =) |

No... everything would de-evolve into a barter system. Where say you needed your roof done, you would have to find someone able to fix your roof , then be able to offer them something they need. It would be hard to find and pay for what your looking for.
If you talking about everything being free, that too would kinda suck. If everything is given to you for free, then people would just destroy things cause hey its free isn't it? People wouldn't respect their belongings, they no longer symbolize hard work and time. |
