Would personal liability as a self employed carpenter cover my personal injury claim as I've broken my leg?

Tom Z
Liability insurance covers you in the event that you cause injury to a third party. As a self employed carpenter you need to purchase health insurance or perhaps workers compensation depending upon the State laws where you work.

No, because you can't sue yourself.

Plus, there's an exclusion for any claim that's eligible for payment under workers comp. Which this might be, if the break was work related (yes, I know, self employed, etc, but it still could qualify).

If this wasn't work related, you need to file under health insurance.

Sorry.

Assuming you're UK based, you want to look at getting some Income Protection Insurance.

AXA are among the best, and you'll look to pay around £40/month for £1500 of cover. This essentially puts £1500 into your bank every month until you're fit to go back to work, or until you're 60. You can of course tailor your needs, that was just to give you a general idea of cost.

Nope.

The Bricklayer
I doubt it.

You need to get yourself some sickness/injury insurance in place for the next time you hurt yourself.

no I doubt. I can suggest you something that you may go for an expert in this field. Like an insurance company or agent that will guide you in a better way. here in CA i know one ( http://www.rghins.com/ ) and they are offering good results in terms of their services and customer satisfaction.
