Some people consider getting pregnant an accident too, but it is not covered either. I am sure your medical insurance will cover your hospital stay. You weren't accidentally injected, you had a reaction to the injection you were given on purpose to treat your condition. |

Nope, stuff that happens inside your body is NOT an accident. Accidents are things that start at the OUTSIDE of your body, like a piano falling on you, or someone shooting you, stuff like that.
Allergic reactions are heatlh issues, not accidents.

Anaphylaxis- which is what you had is, unfortunately, a side effect when you are allergic to something. Prior to giving you the jab the person injecting you should have told you that anaphylaxis could potentially happen. They should also have checked if you have any other allergies (some vaccines are cultured on egg protein for example so an allergy to eggs would mean they wouldn't give you the jab). This is known as informed consent and you sign a form stating that you consent. Reacting to a jab is well known so would not be seen as accidental- merely as blooming unfortunate. |

An allergic reaction is not an accident. Would you consider submitting this claim if you had seasonal allergies or food allergies? This is really not that much different than those. Yes, it was a severe reaction, but it was not an accident. |

An "accident" is generally something like when your car is hit by another car, or when you fall off a ladder when you're cleaning the gutters or something. I don't think I'd consider a reaction to medicine as an "accident", unless maybe your doctor stuck you with the needle accidentally and said "Oops".
Sorry, but ... I think your insurance company is right. |
