Lets say for example you currently had NO dental coverage, but then you see you have a cavity, so you call and for $9.42 a month you can have full dental added, so you add it.
Then a week goes by and you get your dental card in the mail, make an appoitment, and 4 cavities and a lot of other work done, not to mention a bill for $1,200 you are done. Your co-pay was $50, and that is all you pay.
2 months go by, after everything is settled by your insurance company and you cancel your dental, do you feel bad??? is that illegal?

For 9.42 a month, I'd leave the dental coverage on and not take it off.
Do you think that dental work is all you will ever need to have done?
How about your cleaning every 6 months so you don't get more cavities?
How about if you bite down to hard on a piece of hard candy and break a tooth?
How about one of those fillings falls out and needs to be replaced?
You can't just add the dental each time you need it -- your HR or health insurance company is not that stupid. |

Me? Yes. I'm a Christian, with a concience, and I'm not going to lie on the application and misrepresent pre-exisiting conditions so they get covered.
It's theft. I'm not a thief. Period. As I was explaining to my 16 year old, there isn't any moral difference between stealing from a friend, stealing from a stranger, and stealing from a business. It's stealing.
Is it illegal? Sure, it's insurance fraud. So now, you have no right to complain about rates - because you're putting in fraudulent claims. |

You should feel bad becuase you've been dishonest. This is a prime example of why health insurance premiums are skyrocketing these days. People will use deceit to get things covered and then b*tch when their premiums go up. And yes...it IS illegal. It's insurance fraud. I hope you think about it and feel terrible everytime you look at your new smile in the mirror.
I hate to be harshe, but people like you are the reason honest people like ME are getting their premiums jacked up every year. Take responsibility for your own problems and actions, instead of finding ways that other people can help foot the bill for you. |

You are usually OK, unless it would be reasonable to assume that you knew in advance that you needed the dental work done before you started the policy.
Cancelling the policy is OK. |
