good god, this question is WAY too vague. It all depends on where you live. If you live in Los Angeles, CA. You need to make about $3000 a month to be able to afford your rent $1500 for a one bedroom apt (in a DECENT area). the other 1500 would go towards the electric, water, cable, and internet bill. Plus food and necessities. This is just an estimate though. |

Do they buy new clothes or do they where the same ones for years?
Do they live in New York City or in the middle of Wyoming....or South America for that matter?
Do they shop at Nordstroms or Amvets?
What kind of car do they drive?
Do they drive at all?
Do they own a tv, ipod, cell phone....or do they not have any of these expenses?

By middle class I presume you mean the lifestyle as well as the actual living of that person.I would say a take home pay of around £750 a week would cover most of the things considered middle class nice house, nice car, holiday twice a year etc. However with the obscenely rapid rise in house prices in the past that middle class lifestyle has become open to ''normal'' people and the demise of our old manufacturing base has blurred the lines between the social standings.As such I think the classes now are Rich, Comfortable and Poor although it is what you do with your money that decides how you live and how happy you are.For example you can earn £10,000 a week but if you spend £10,001a week you are in debt always but if you earn £100 a week and spend £99 you have money left over. |
