There are several A+ companies in Switzerland that would make good long term investments. Nestle, Novartis, Roche, UBS, Credit Swisse, Swiss Life Holdings, to name a few. One option is to buy a basket of at least 5 of the investment grade companies of these types but also retain a cash reserve of at least 3,000 francs. I do not know if you have access to mutual funds there but if you do find one that invests in these type of companies and does not churn the porfolio. Better yet find a couple. Also for divesity sake you may wish to invest a portion in stocks of other countries.

Send me the money, I'd have a blast and make a video you could watch on you vacation. It's a win-win for both of us!

I would suggest purchase of a re-possessed house, fix it up, get a loan on that house to purchase another one, sell the first house...etc. In my area (Wichita, KS) homes of this type can be purchased for $3,000 US dollars and up. Another way to find this type of home is to check your local government's listing of homes that are delinquent in taxes and are for general public sale as a result.

Buy an index fund. They aren't so popular in Switzerland as in the USA or even the UK, but the load & fees are far lower than anything else.

You could buy real estate in Switzerland (subject to what remains of the Lex Friedrich) but maybe even with a 3% mortgage CHF 22,000 isn't enough of a deposit.

Check the Crédit Suisse Web site for the funds.
