Addicted to the Stock Market?
I lost alot of money on the stock market when it crashed, but it has since recovered but i did not have the nerve to go back in. I still think about going back to try and make the money back, i feel like such a failure but i know if i go back i will end up making myself ill. If anyone has experienced this or has advice please help!

it is a very hard decision to reenter the stock market after such a big loss, but the market has a return of approx. 13% over its lifetime so go ahead. proceed with caution.

Everyone gets that sinking feeling in your gut when you lose money. But you have to look at where you went wrong on your last picks and try not to repeat it. There are good companies to invest in and if you approach it as a investment you should be alright. it's when you use it like a casino is when you will lose money. The best thing to do is paper trade for awhile until you get your confidence back, you can lose all the white paper you want and you won't get hurt.

Your problem is not unique, emotion in the market will make you crazy...just put your stocks on auto-pilot with an auto trader like Cool Trade.

All you have to do is develop or use an existing strategy and it runs all by itself. I run three auto traders and I still have to turn off the monitors during the day, or I go crazy

now is a good time with chinese boom and mixed economy.

if you invest in big companies even if market crash, u just wait it out it will bounce back up.

stock market overall is stll a good place for your investment on avg of 30% return.

you just have to do your homework and pick the right stock.

don't just trust whatever people says about stocks that can make you 9000% profit and BS like that.

don't be greedy, do your homework, and pick the right stock.

If you are the nervy type this is probably not the best time to go back into the market. Indexes are all high so at some time in the fairly near future there could well be a fairly dramatic retrenchment. If you can get over this over the medium to long term you are likely to do all right. It is difficult whatever anyone may tell you to time purchases to allow you to buy low and sell high. For psychological reasons most investors manage to do it the other way round (like you at this moment ) by buying high and selling low. It is best to dribble your money into the market to take advantage of pound/dollar averaging.

why not start with mutual funds or ETFs rather than trying to pick individual stocks?

Dear Mr.Street

Have a go at buying like you would in a supermarket. Low prices as in any market are a good policy especially when all around you are filling their pants with shite.
