It all depends on your age and what else you haveout there. But if its your first 7k. I would suggest having 3 months cash in a savings account. Then invest the rest in a balanced mutual fund. Put in 1000, the a month later another 1000. Investing is NOT a get rich scheme. You have to be in it for the long haul.

i recently invested 8000$ in stocks. I'm 18 and just graduated highschool.
Right after i invested the market took a nose dive, back in october.

You really have two choices. you can either play it safe with cds, bonds, or a money market account.
Or you can gamble, assume the market is the lowest it can possibly go, invest it all in stocks and stand to make HUGE gains. But risk loosing it all.

Its something you should talk to a financial adviser about for sure.

it depends on YOU , if your young ,put it in I bonds for college.or for your kids, grand kids. or for you.

As far as investing ------- PUT IN ANYTHING ------- Only what you can afford TO LOOSE !!!!!!!!!!!! ????????????

I know this is no help >>>>>>>>>>> go with what you honestly is right for you and your family.

Any good growth stock mutual fund with a ten year track record for beating the market. Now is the time to be a tortoise not a hare. But also consider that now is a good time to de-leverage yourself also. If you have a loan out there and you pay it off you are guaranteeing yourself the interest that you would have paid on it. And then you also have no payments any more and you can add those payments to your monthly cash flow.

If you have a mortgage on your house or large credit card dept. Pay them off. Best ROI you can get is paying off your home.

OIH (Oil Service Holdings) - Group of oil industry companies, bound to go up come spring, if not then summer. Hold it longer for a larger return.

GOOG (Google) - They are down pretty low and that price for the (almost) monopoly of the internet is looking pretty good right now.

Stay with CD's or money market accounts for now! Stocks(and even some bonds) are rather volatile! Better safe than sorry! ;-)=
