Its quite tricky things just dont boom, to keep it quite simple when the market is down fixed intrest investements (GILTS & Corporate bonds) will rise in value because they will provide you mwith a fixed income, so you know what you are getting.

Fixed interest funds. Because of the wobble in the markets and falling property funds fixed interest is making good money. You could invest in specialist funds such as industries of the future funds. My advice would be to spread any investments across a lot of sectors.
