The stock market has weird expectations sometimes. If investors expect a certain performance and then when an earnings report is issued that does not meet those expectations, even if the earnings are UP, this could cause skittish investors to bail like rats leaving a sinking ship and the stock price could take a hit. |

The whole industry fell and Apple along with it. Over the long haul, Apple will do just fine, but in the short term, even with record earnings it is hard to fight the whole industry. I woudl not worry about just a 2% drop over one day when the whole industry did the same thing. |

Because the stock market is stupid. Their earnings went up, but probably not far enough up to meet the unreasonable expectations of some idiot on Wall Street. So they drop in price instead. |

what you're seeing is the after hour trading where the volume is low. the reason it's down is likely due to lower than expected guidance for future quarter. The stock market is just adjusting its prices to reflect what it believe aapl will post next quarter. check out http://ibooyah.com for more investment matters. |
