Are half dollars worth a lot?
I have eight, half dollar coins from 1964, are the worth anything?

mikeeyman
about 50 cents each.

muncie birder
The silver in them is certainly worth something. Figure them at about 10 to 12x face value. That would make each about $5 to $6.

Yes. Half dollars are worth a half of a dollar. For every half dollar you have, you should be able to get 50 cents on the open market.

they are only worth 50 cents...so you have $4

$4

They are worth $0.50 each, or $4.00 over all.
They would probably be worth more if they were from before 1961

Who Knows???
Up until 1970 half dollars had silver in them. Making them worth more than 1971+ half dollar coins. After the cost of silver became more than the face value of the coin the US Mint stopped using it. The same thing happened in 1964 with the quarters.

So yes your 1964 half dollars are technically worth more to a collector.
