CK | Are residential property prices going to keep rising? |

Yes. Unless it's in a place where everybody is moving out. Of course there will be up and down, but it does go up like cost of living goes up every year and your salary goes up every year (hopefully). It's the combination of land price and construction cost. The land price depends on availability. Near or in the cities, lands are high in demand, so it goes up. In a remote area where industries no longer exist and people have moved out, there are more lands available, so price may have come down. |

Real estate tends to appreciate in value universally, in some markets it will not and others it will be a slower rate of increase than others, but I do foresee a major decline in housing prices nationwide. |

Yes, that way politicians can say they didn't raise taxes although they are getting more because your property value has gone up and will continue to rise. |

Nope, the market has soften quit a bit. What is happening now is people are trying to sell their homes, buildings, ect at a price that gives them a certain return. Currently, they are leaving thier properties on the market for a lot longer than they did last year. Many of them are even needing to lower the ask price to sell them. |

No, they have been on a 13.5% decrease since the new year and experts say that houses are 20%-40% over priced depending on the area of the country. Housing market has kept the increase the past two years; due to the baby boomers buying second homes and vacation homes in the preparation for retirement, which is expected to decrease in the future since the youngest baby boomers are 48. |
