I don't know why they wouldn't accept coins. Coins are a legal currency in the United States. What if your purchase amounts to $50.29? If you give them $51.00 they are going to have to give you $0.71 in coins back. So why wouldn't they want to accept coins?

I goes under the right to refuse business to anyone.

there may be exceptions to bushels and buckets of coins,
but other that that, legal tender means exactly that

bilko_ca
coins are legal currency, so, yes.

if there are large amounts, they can ask that they be rolled and include your name and phone number on them.

ginger
Coins are legal currency. So yes...

um, why wouldn't they???
now, maybe if you are paying with ROLLS of coins, then you will have a problem b/c those rolls can be counterfeited very easily. we asked that people not pay with rolls of coins at my last place of business, however, we didn't deny them, we just made them wait until we counted every single coin!

coins are legal tender, so you can lawfully pay with them anywhere.
