Are we at the bottom of the financial market yet ?
In your opinion are we at the bottom. Can it get much worse ? How far it will go down, you think ?

I made the mistake of calling a bottom at a higher level only because the economy was stabilizing, which is commonly referred to a bottom. However, with no structure (loans) in place for a turnaround the market collapsed. The mistake I made was not realizing that inflation is still too high for money to stabilize the market. Now we are deflated to a reasonable level where markets turnaround. However, as of today there is insufficient information to declare an official bottom, deflation could go to nothing so we need to wait for the government to put out some numbers indicating that money is coming back into the economy.

Been net short for the last 2 /12 years. We are not at the bottom yet. The economy won't be turning around for AT LEAST another year. I think this will be a multi-year issue.

However, with that said, all this Bearish sentiment is starting to make be sightly Bullish, but I'm not ready to pull the trigger yet.

It can and probably will get a lot worse.

I've already lost 65% of everything I worked for during the last 40 years so I hope we are near the bottom. Most of our 401K money is in some CEO's bank account. Some people have said the bottom is
around 1,000 and the market is presently around 8,400.

it can get worse yes

It can get worse, but I don't see it going much further down. I think that we still have some leveraging power in how much we can borrow still, so I think we'll just be stagnant for a while. Not catastrophically bad, maybe some more unemployment.

riche_bitche_007
I personally am !!

But, as for the country I think we are in a situation that has not yet bottomed out...Isn't that scary???? I certainly hope that this new administration will be able to pull us out by our heels..But this will take some time, so everyone will just have to try and be as patient as possible....Everyday more and more job losses are hitting us, Companies losing billions, Banks failing, Unemployment skyrocketing, Millions without health care, Job Outsourcing increasing, Millions of Illegals pouring into the country, Crime, Disillusionment, Hopelessness, Isn't it grand???

And just think we live in the best country in the world, I am not being rude either, that is a serious statement...But we are quickly sinking into the mire....America is in Crisis...Ummm lets see how many other countries that we have helped so often are coming to our rescue??? Imagine that we are on our own !! Should be a lesson learned, shouldn't it ??? If we had all the money back that we have given out, we would be fine right now.....What a shame !!

katenyc123
we have been at the bottom for about 2 months now, its scary to think it could get worse

No, not the bottom. Yes it will get worse. The Dow may go to 4400 best; 2500 worse case by 2012.

midimykeys
no, it can get much worse. It may get as bad as banks not loaning to other banks, which means you won't be able to get auto, home, equity, or personal loans. Well, an equity loan is almost guaranteed because there's collateral. I guess when we hit bottom, you won't be able to get an equity loan. Let's hope that doesn't happen eigh?

Hickey25KY
i'm not for sure how far we will fall, but i'm pretty sure that we are not near the bottom yet. i do have faith that we will climb back out of this hole eventually. but it will be slow.

Where going down the **** hole.

rdtotteniii@sbcglobal.net
Think of Moscow/Russia after the collapse. That is where we are headed.

FTEE
We are headed for a deep depression. Our markets will collapse and unemployment will soar. The bottom is a couple years away, so Bush and his cronies are giving all our tax money to the jews before he leaves office.
