Its the classic mistake of buying the hot stock, the one everyone is talking about. We've all done it. You will make a lot more money on stock that nobody is talking about. As far as Apple and Google, both are probably going down before they go up. I would not try to time it though, keep the stock for the long run. (If those are your only two stocks, you really need to diversify. |

Ditto to the first two answers. Hold it, but don't expect any quick rebound. Lucky you, you've just gotten your first lesson in buying stocks. You bought high, don't make the mistake of selling low, if the fundamentals of the stock are good, go ahead and hold it. Google may still be at $1000 a year from now, that stock has been a tough one to hold down. Remember a lot of people bought this stock at $400, it's no surprise that they're pulling their money out at the first sign of a downturn. A year from now there will probably be a lot of people wishing that they had bought Apple and Google at the price you paid. I personally own some of both, and I'm not at all worried. |

I just joined the crazy stock market a month ago. =( beginner and much to learn. I have stock in AAPL, GOOG and TBSI ..
If its your play money .. then keep it in .. it will *eventually* go back up. If you need the money you still have.. and wont regret the money you have lost .. then pull out |

At least half the trick to making money in the stock market is not to loose it. You made a mistake, don't compound it by living in denial. It's one thing to be patient when all the signs are strong and in your favor. It's another thing entirely to hope that things will work out when all of the signs indicate otherwise. They indicate otherwise. In the stock market being safe is being in cash. Be safe not sorry. |

GOOG's "high" was like 3 days ago. Perhaps you are too nervous to be investing the stock market? How about a nice, quiet CD or government bond... |

Hold. They will rebound eventually, but it could be awhlie as they will follow the market in general. And market sentiment is down considerably.
They are both making money so far, in many diverse markets, and should continue their dominance. Think long term, and remember, never chase a good thing, for as you found out, a good thing can turn bad, for no reason of its own doing.
You wait in the wings for situations like this, and now is the time to buy. |
