Buying opportunities in the down market?
I'm in my 20's so I have plenty of time to weather our current financial mess, which leads me to wonder what opportunities might be out there for a buy. Many of the major banks are down by a huge amount - do any of them look reasonably safe enough to bet on right now? Any other areas to keep an eye out for?

Forex :)
in stocks no. In these times you can make lot of money on Forex. You can either buy or sell a pair. Forex is way better than stocks. In stocks you can't earn money when prices are falling. Forex is easier to learn because you don't need to know all about the fundamentals of a company, only use charts, techinical analisys.

this broker bellow is a Swiss broker wich is the best Forex broker. They give you $5 to learn to trade and it is easy to send money to him and you can send any amount of money.

go to oppen account, register, take they software and in the software there are chats where you can ask any question you want, even the most basic.

I would invest heavily in Depends undergarments. With the way the economy is heading, sales are going to skyrocket.

Buy some property man! If you have the money, invest in real estate!! The market value of homes are so low and interest rates are great! You can buy homes right now and rent them out for more than your monthly payment! That means you have a home in your name and someone else is paying for it! Come on, you can't get much better than that!!

Your thinking makes sense in general, but there is no reason whatsoever to be the hero and be first in on anything right now - particularly anything financial. Once you see it turn, then invest in an appreciating asset - that will tremendously minimize your risk and preserve capital.
