You can't buy stock directly from a company. Investment companies such as Edward Jones buy stock then sell them to individuals at the market price. I would say you're best bet is to do some research for some online brokers, i.e. etrade.com. They usually have the least amount of fees if you're not interested in a broker's advice.

DRIPS (Dividend Reinvestment Plans), there are many companies you can buy direct;
GE
Johnson & Johnson
Pfeizer
Barclay's
and hundreds more.......

This is an add.... but you'll learn a lot from it;

All registered shares go through brokers . Ameritrade, Scotttrade,and all the other trades are brokers. The only time you can buy directly from the company is if you have holdings and new shares are issued, stock dividends are paid in lieu of cash, or the stock is split with more issued shares or reversed split where a share becomes less than one.

just go to the stock store and buy stock.
