There is a 30 day rule if you had a loss on the stock. If you sold at a loss initially, you must wait 30 days to repurchase the stock and take the tax loss. Otherwise, if you have a gain, yes you can buy the same stock anytime.
Good luck. |

yes but if you sold it for a loss, and then bought back b4 30days and sold it again...it would be considered a wash sale, meaning u can not write off the loss on ur taxes |

Absolutely, you can!!! I've done it many times. But I trade stocks on what is called a "margin" account. And that's because of what "phuket22" said about the account needing a few days to settle. Your broker will let you know if you have to do that, so just do it. They'll tell you if you have to trade in a margin account. And it really doesn't matter if you are trading in cash or in margin. Or at least it hasn't affected my trading at all. |

Yes, why not? You can buy and sell the same stock over and over again... |

Oh Boy!

Yes. In fact you could buy it 10 seconds after you sold it.
The only issue is if you took a loss when you sold it. If you did then in order to write off that loss you can't buy it back for 30 days. The point is to make certain that people who own stock that' worth less than they paid don't sell it simply to realize a tax loss only to buy it back immediately.
If you don't take a loss you can buy and sell and buy again to your hearts content. If you're willing to forego taking the loss for tax purposes then you're free to trade to your hearts content. |

Yes you can but not at the same price as you have sold it unless there is no change in the price. this is provided the stock is a stock of public listed company, if it is not than you got to buy it from the owner which may not sell it to you at the same price |

Yes of course. I make my entire living buying stocks then selling them the same day, then rebuying them again the same day again(if needed). You buy and sell a stock however many times you want (all in 1 day if you want) but you cant purchase stocks with unsettled funds in your account. You usually have to wait 3 days for funds to settle if you are using the same funds over and over again to buy and sell. |

well lets say you sold 100 shares. There is a 3 day settlement period for that transaction, and then it is a done deal. Can you buy 100 shares again? Sure. At whatever the going rate is.. |

Sure, at market value. |
|

Sure... but you are going to take a beating in taxes... it's called a "wash sale". |
