yes, but you better really know what you are doing or else you can go bottoms up in a hurry.

sure you can, you can make a living doing anything really!! trading stocks for a living however is a little riskier than having a regular 9-5 job from an employee but trends over time show that you receive about 10-13% return on your investment in the market! 25,000 as a start up might be a little low in terms of capital to make enough money to live off, perhaps look into leveraging you money!! use facilities like margin lending etc to invest in the market. Understand the market your investing in and also remember you can use overseas stocks to help hedge the risks of your investments aswell!! it does complicate things but can yield good returns. most of all , do your reasearch and make sure your happy with the level of risk you take on board. hope it helps

Yes, I can vouch for this. But before you do, be disciplined in your method and backtest it. Also worth mention is to manage your investment in say 2-5% per stock in the event that your research turns up biting you in the backside.

Yes. But not with only $25,000.

Even if you made 50% per year, that is only $12,500 per year, before taxes.

yeah but dont start at the deep end

I make a living trading socks, so I can imagine anything you can do with socks you can do with stocks.

If you're planning on trading first thing I'd say is realize there's a big difference between investors and traders.

Try to study more trading and less investing and try not to get the strategies between both disciplines confused or mixed.

Yes - many people do it.

No - that is not enough to start with as your only source of income.

There are many books on this topic. Rather than risking 25,000, do the following first:

1. Keep your day job

2. Spend 100 on four or five quality investing books - they are named every day on this site. If you don't have 100, go to the library or the book store and read them there, taking notes.

3. Use an online practice trading site to run a 25,000 portfolio to see what your average trades and risk tolerance actually do under the stress of multiple trades - this is an important view of reality.

4. Work with your trading to the point that you can phase into the next step - whatever that is for you - without putting your savings or your job at unnecessary risk.

Having a plan is part of being a good trader. If you can't do the simple steps above, and get something from it, you'll not make it in trading, and you'll be back where you are right now minus 25,000 dollars.

Best wishes for successful choices

I have been following Steve’s calls @ www.T-Waves.net. He only trades 200 shares at a time of quality stocks.
Check out T-Waves Free-Newsletter service at www.twaves.net it’s been quite successful.
He offers a free-trail; so take the chance, you will not be disappointed. It will give you a real eye opener.
