To get your feet wet w/ day trading. Go to investopedia.com, they have a stock simulator which allows u to buy stocks and purchase options. They also give you $100k to start. You can purchase and sell stocks in real time. Although its play money, it gives u an indication of what would happen w/ real money |

Yes you can, many traders do it all the time.
But the law is that you must pay in full for your purchase before you sell it, and you can not use the proceeds of the sale to cover the purchase amount. This is called "free riding" and it is illegal.
If you sell a security with out making payment your account must be frozen for 90 days or until payment in full is made.
This is why traders trade with sufficient capital.. |

Yes. The official name for this is day trading.
You can also sell them a few hours later when they go down in value. |

I tried day trading and lost about 2 grand in a blink of an eye.
There are people with 8 years worth of finance degrees day trading. Don't bother to compete.
But if you want to throw away some money, there are some great on line trading sites or try a regular discount broker. |

yea. That is called gambling. Use an on-line broker if you are going to do it. Commissions from a real broker will kill you. Good luck with that. If you really want to get your freak on try using options. My guess is that you are going to lose either way. Day trading is tough. |

What you're describing is day trading. This can be done from you're own computer if you have a brokerage account such as TD Ameritrade. |

Yes, you can...however the SEC has new regulations for day traders:
You are officially a "Day Trader" if you day trade 4 or more times in the span of 10 days. If you do this, you are required to have a minimum account balance $25,000...That's why I stopped day trading. |

Yes of course you can, It is a continuously priced market. Th e gap between buying and selling can be as short as you can possibly get the two orders on.
Don't bother to trade a fantasy system. What's the point? Maybe with options and futres if you are trying to see how a particular strategy works in real life. |

Umm...Yeah. I use Scottrade. It costs $7 to buy and $7 to sell, no hidden fees. |

Limited with an average online account you can only make 5 day trades in one business week. This means buying and selling the same stock in the same day.Otherwise you have to have a special daytrade account with a minimum of $20,000.00 to open and maintain the account. But you can buy and then sell the next morning this is ok with a regular account. |
