Here is my question where can i look at all these business to look at there numbers? How am i suppost to know a busineses numbers, where do i find that? Sorry if this is a dumb question im just new and would like to start studying now. Is there a website that has every stock symbol and all its numbers or somethi9ng like that? Additional Details Ya the only problem is to catch the little small new companies they probably wont be on the "weeks highs and lows thing" so im wondering if there is a place that lists them all and has all there numbers and stats.
You can get all these data from their annual reports. Just call the company up or get one from the internet.
In addition, you can try some online websites that have this service and there are books that compile NAV, PE aand everything weekly. You can use those and they're available.

knowing the company's symbol for trading on the exchange, go to: http://finance.yahoo.com/ it's a good start.
explore this yahoo finance - it's very good, you can find the symbol for any company there too.
get the annual report and learn how to read financial statements.

Your internet provider has the answers for you. If you are on Yahoo just type in the stock symbol or the business name where it says "real time quotes"

I would just create an account at etrade.com or even use Yahoo's Finance site, you should be able to pull up those numbers and information when looking up a stock symbol..
you could start by looking at links that say today's gainers and loosers by $ or % and just get a feel for the different information that is provided on the list.
I'm new myself to the stocks and that's what i'm doing as well as reading a few books.
