Only to people who don't know what it's worth. To those who do, they'd have very little reason for paying you more than it's actually worth.

Do you mean more than its being traded for on the exchange? If so, the answer if yes. It's called a third party transaction and you would have to find someone willing to buy the shares from you. But who would want to buy the shares from you at a higher price when they can go out to the market and purchase them for less?

Under some circumstances you can. Let's say 3 people own all the shares in a company.
100 shares each. Is one owner wants to get control of the company he may be willing to pay a premium to acquire 51 shares from one or both of the other owners.

You could tell your broker to give you a cetificate(on paper) of your stock and sell it to some for more than it's worth. Tell him it should go up a lot higher. You'd have to be a con man to do it. Get out of town it it doesn't go up. I don't recommend it. If you have a bad stock that won't come up, chalk it up to experience. Better luck next time.

One way to get more money for your stock is-selling covered call.
You can sell covered call with short experiat.-let say a month.
Usualy you can get 3 to 7 % premium up front.
You can wait until experiation of call hopping the stock will not go down.
In this case you will get more money than you would in the day of buying calls.

It happens every day. A stock will sell for $40 in the moring and $38 in the evening. Obviously, those who bought the stock for $40 paid $2.00 more than what people in the afternoon though it was worth.

holbrpa
Absolutely. Amazon (AMZN) is selling for about 40% more than it is worth right now. What a bunch of idiot longs.
