While the price of gold has slumped lately (past few weeks), gold has been on a tare. That's because some people believe that the US dollar may become devalued and that this would cause great economic problems. I don't invest in gold, but there are many who are holding tight.. and I mean it, some people have very big faith in gold at this point in the economy.
It's tough for the average person to weigh out the worth of the gold in the jewelry. If you want to take the time, you can have 2 pawn shops tell you what they would pay (for price comparison), then see if you can get higher selling on ebay. Try one lesser value item first so you can see the techniques of the pawn shop owner (such as are they doing everything within your sight vs taking the jewelry in back) and how you like dealing with them in general. If you really want to see about this Cash 4 Gold, send the lesser valued item to them too. Personally, I couldn't get myself to do that unless it was a small item of no sentimental value. |

What do you mean 'if it actually works' ?
YOU send in your unwanted gold jewelry, the company rips you off by claiming 'top prices paid' without telling you that you ONLY GET PAID A FRACTION OF THE SPOT PRICE OF GOLD...
advertisement says 'Gold at highest price ever, $1000 per ounce'...what will YOU actually get?
I just 'yahoo searched ONE site and got this...(today's gold is probably $850 to $950 PER OUNCE) and here's what this site pays...and they advertise HIGHEST PRICE Paid...YOU only get $29.52 PER OUNCE...and there is a 5 ounce minimum.
I know-you said I put in the wrong amount. NOPE. They will PAY you $29.52 . per ounce. At least $825 to $925 LESS than what gold is selling for on the market.
I was a silversmith for years, and I can still send in MY scrap gold and silver direct to the refinery-and THEY will pay me somewhere between 40% and 60% of market price...so if I buy YOUR gold, pay you $29.52 per ounce, I can turn around and sell it to the refinery for $340 to $400 or more...NOW who's making the money? It isn't you...
It's a scam, a legitimate scam because you are selling your gold FOR SCRAP...and guess what...they are NOT going to pay you for the stones in that jewelry-that's an added bonus!
EVen if they do..you're old quarter karat diamond engagement ring...the ex boyfriend spent $1,000 for it at Zales or someplace...if you are lucky, you'll get $50 to $75 just for the diamond! I know-that's what I WAS buying them for when I gave it up-and I was paying MORE than the pawn shop downtown would! |

yeah it works but you won't really get that much for it all...gold is purchased typically by the PURE OUNCE...most jewelery is not pure gold...pure gold is very soft and scratches and bends easily...if you have A LOT of jewelery to sell then you might get about $500 - $1000...good luck |

you will not get the true value of the jewellry, you will get the gold weight value which is considerable less. |

The problem is that you don't know how much your jewelry weighs so it's easy for them to completely rip you off. A lot of jewelry stores and coin dealers buy unwanted jewelry for scrap. You would be better off checking out those guys. |

If you really wanna sell your gold, maybe you should try a pawn shop. Sometimes they will even buy broken gold jewelry. |

So your going to "collage" huh?
A lot of people buy gold but not at the actual market price unless you are trading securities or commodities.
Gold has plummeted, been short GLD.
What ever you sell, it will be at a steep discount from market. |
