Common Sense

GM is bankrupt. There is no GM. There will be the New GM.... if you own the old shares they will be worth nothing and will not trade.
The best way to get involved is to read. Read books on trading or investing. Don't put money to work in the market until you've got a good grasp on what you're doing. Your owning GM tells me you've got a lot to learn
BTW: It's great that you're into this. Study hard & you'll be way ahead of anyone your age (and many older)......................... |

gm is junk, our worthless govt owns that.
If you look at a chart for f, you will see the big dump it has taken lately. I don't consider an auto manufacturer a sound investment, especially with their overhead costs and losses.
I have been a loyal ge owner for many years. Many people have bought ge in the high 30's and held, look at the loss they have now. Todays price is great for a long term investment and the dividends ge offers.
Aeropostle, retail is pretty high valued in todays market, I think anf may be the better long term buy. If you look at valuation of stock? TJX is the best overall retailer.
You could buy some shares in an online joint account with a parent.
The best advice is not to put all your money in one company, buy like a pyramind, a small amount to begin with and add more shres as the price comes down. As long as the fundamentals of the company haven't changed or diminished, like citigroup, aig, bank of america, etc. |
