Could I buy stocks before opening bell at closing price?
Say I wake up at 6, and opening bell is at 630, Comcast closed at 20 dollars we will say, but over night it went up a dollar, would it cost me 20 dollars at 6 o clock or 21 dollars?

Premarket trading isn't something really open to individuals. The answer to you question is no. Even in premarket and after hours there is a bid and an ask, just like when the market is open.

The only way to buy the stock at a given price to enter a limit order. BUT that does not guarantee you will buy the stock.

There might be some sold at your limit, but if you are on the bottom of the line and the price goes up, you are out of luck until it comes back down.

If you trade any market (pre-market in this case) the price does not necessarily have anything to do with previous regular market closing price (or after market prices). Overnight news or futures activity can change things significantly.

Whenever any market is open (regular or extended hours) the price is whatever people are willing to buy and sell for at the time, and due to limited volume during extended hours, those prices can have a wider bid/ask spread or more volitile selling prices than when the opening bell sounds for the regular markets. You can sometimes find a bargain or get a good selling price pre-market, but you can the rug pulled out from under you if you let emotion take over.

place a limit order.

well.. most likely not

google closed at 449, afterhour, 525

if people can get this stock tomorrow at opening bell for 449 we will have tons of millionaires

no you shouldn't get the closing price from previous day because people in afterhour and premarket trading already bid up the price.

Pre-market is open to individuals. Like an exchange, you have to go through our broker.

You can buy at the price somebody is willing to sell at now. Yesterday's close was a trade that took place yesterday and has nothing to do with what people will think it's worth now.

It depends on the movement of the stock price after hours. Trading continues after the bell. The price could have gone up or it could have come down. The order desk will already be active clearing yesterdays trades or filling the newest orders that come in, in early hours trading. Not all stocks will be active before the bell or after the bell. It all depends on the interest/demand for that stock.

It'd be 21 (or whatever the ask price is at the time)
The reason it went from 20 to 21 was that based on the action during after hours trading, the market makers decided it was worth just a little bit more.
