I would magine it would be a raffle, not a lottery. You would have to make sure everything was above board with a solicitor (that could cost you quite a lot). A solicitor would also tell you if it was legal and how to go about it.

Do you mean issue and sell lottery tickets yourself? The answer must be know for legal reasons.Who wouild buy them anyway?

I have never heard of such a thing. How do you know if you will be able to get enough sales? In typical lotteries, people don't have to wait years for the outcome. Also, you may not be able to guarantee that your estate will have the amount of money that the lottery states it will give to the winner.

If you meet the rules for lotteries in the UK, there are special rules for this.

As your estate may be worthless when you die, you may fail to meet the criteria.

If you can lock in a minimum guaranteed value you could. If the value were variable, you would want to sell interests, but what would motivate someone to invest in your potential with a risk that you might have nothing when you go???
