Day trading stocks.?
Everyone has told me that investing stocks by day trading is horrible!! Buts im a stubborn type of guy. I have about 3k to invest and through Ameritrade if found out that they dont charge commission fees for the first 30 days. Im aware the the stock market has good and also teribble days. im plaining to invest in company X when the time looks right to me? Should i invest like this? I bet allot of people are gonna hate my idea but if so PLEASE TALK ME OUT OF IT. thank you!

PS. I took into account the After net-income/loss tax and 10$ commison fee after the 30 day period for selling and buying.

If you make four or more day trades within five consecutive business days you will be classified as a "pattern day-trader." You will then be required to have a margin account and a minimum balance of $25,000.00. Those are NYSE and NASD regulations.

With your funds you will be limited to making occasional day trades.

well...

1. people who can't spell shouldn't trade stocks, they should read more books.

2. you need to have information to trade stocks, not just "good day/bad day" attitude.

3. free trades is nice, but the cost of trading is just a factor in your success.

4. do you even have a job?

"well a wise man once said to buy the business and not the stock. another words is to look at the company's financial statements and analyze them."
Warren Buffet

so i would not waste time reading into charts and graphs.

You probably aren't ready yet.

At least define your terms better; "investing" and "day trading" are two different things.

You need a plan; trading something that "looks right" ain't gonna work, sorry. You can "invest" like this, but "trading" is a discipline.

I am a day trader myself and I can say that day trading is much safer than picking up stocks for me. The catch is, you need to understand the market well in order to make money by day trading. You need a convincing theory and multiple of skills. It is especially useful when you can trade it commission free.

Although I said that it is safer for me, it might not be for you. As I said, you need lots of skills such as understanding the movement of particular stock and a very brave heart to trade successfully. you also need to be decisive and know when to cut losses and take gains. All in all, you need to be very discipline.

Wish you luck man.

Mike Caro, a noted poker authority once said that if you have a small bankroll and could replenish it quickly, you should take a shot.

Take a shot if you have the resources to replenish the bankroll.

Since you've already decided, why are you asking here to talk you out of it? Go do it.

You will be looking to profit from small swings in price that will require large share volumes to make a decent profit. For $3,000 you are not likely to make enough to make it worth while even if you are good at it.
