Do trading robots actually work?

Nope. It is just another gimmick to get your money (commissions). The regulators (FINRA) have discussed banning these programs. There is some debate that the programs cause uneducated investors to loose control of their investments and thus unwillingly give discretion to their broker-dealer.

Stay away from these. Either take the time to do it yourself or hire a professional.

Britt
never heard of 'em.

what kind of robots

Kant
I think that not, since the financial markets move for different factors and a robot doesn't take into importance.
I invest with a corp that has a system called "clone trader", that is not a robot that makes it a human and it works perfectly.

Stockwillrise
Robots are designed by humans, so robots are nothing but thoughts of another human. So u are actually getting trading advice from another human. As long as u choose me as the person u get trading advice from you will have no problem and u will make huge profits. Good Luck.

I don't even know how people trade without a great degree in Finance. As a Finance major, I just ask myself how people hate their money so much

This is something that I have been thinking alot about. So I have created a "trading robot" at http://www.top10traders.com

You can see the "algo" events on the main page, and starting tomorrow, you can see how the first robot performs here:

http://top10traders.com/viewalgoportfolios.aspx

The website is totally firee - you can create your own portfolio and see how you compare to over 500 other investors at the site.

Yes they do. BUT, they lack human logic, so they can't really tell if a stock is going to recover after a serious drop; they just pull out when you start losing.
