Do you think it is worth it to buy lottery tickets?
Has anyone won big money? I would love to buy lottery tickets but don't have much money. Is it worth my investment to try to win since I have tried all my life to earn a living and am still poor. They say if you don't try you don't have any chance. This way I at least have a million to one chance.

dude.
lottery's are for fun, very bad idea as an investment, you have an extremely small chance of winning big (much more than one in a million) if you buy a ticket, but you have no chance if you don't play.I play it once or twice a week and I win a little now and again, to me, it's my "what if" game, What if I actually win one day?People do win, that's why we keep playing but if you can't afford it than don't play, the odds are really against you. ( Did have a friend hit $3000 on a scratch off a few weeks back, though.)

The odds on winning any significant amount of money from the lottery is so low, I would say it is not worth it. However, if you can afford to lose the money you are spending on lottery tickets, then by all means go for it.

They're good for stocking stuffers at Christmas.

first of you have to know your limit
then select some lucky numbers
then on calender ,circle your birth day with red colour
then circle with red colour on your birthdate
suppose you born on 15 jan. /monday
all monday for 12 month === 26 days
and all 15th === 12 days
find out coinsides dates
so you will have minimum 12 days and maximum 26 days to purchase a tickets
and select such numbers which contain your lucky day and date too .

Every lazzy guy love lottery. It looks like an easy money. That too a chunk of money. But never so easy as it looks.

Only those who do not believe in themselves will believe in lottery.

Well, who's to say that you aren't that one person in a million who will win. And you're right, if you don't try it then you won't win. It's a chance you have to weigh up, pay the money for a ticket that may win you nothing or save that money but there is no chance of making millions.

I don't know where you live but is there a Premium Bond scheme in your country? In the UK, Premium Bonds cost £100 each and from that, you could win the jackpot but if you want your £100 back then you can get it. It might be a good solution to your worries.

Buy one ticket every few months. It's spending a dollar so you can dream about what it'd be like to strike it rich. It's cheaper than a movie, and more fun, if you ask me. Winning big is as rare as getting hit by a lightning strike. It's also as rare as falling out of bed and dying from it. It's also as rare as getting hit by a meteorite and dying. None of these things are likely enough to happen for you to bother planning for, so don't bother planning to win the lottery.

Investing any significant amount of money in the lottery is a waste. Unless you are already a multimillionare, you can't buy enough tickets to increase your odds much. The first ticket is maybe worth it to go from zero odds to 1/100,000,000. Spending the second dollar to go to 2/100,000,000 is silly. Sometimes, a very rich person will spend $100,000,000 to try and make sure he wins a really big jackpot, but even then, it's a dumb investment idea because you could end up splitting the pot, and you pay taxes on it.

Take the money you were going to spend on lottery tickets and go to a bank. Ask them to open an account for you so you can earn some interest on it. If you can put away 10% of what you make, you'll end up way ahead of most Americans. As you get more money built up, you can start putting it in mutual funds or stocks and bonds. That's one way how some really rich people actually got rich.

Don't think you can manage 10%? I did 20% every year while I was a graduate student living on a stipend. Just pretend you make less money than you actually do.

To me, the only reason to buy lottery tickets is in an "office pool". The odds of winning are very low but what if 25 people in the office all leave at the same time and you didn't participate in the pool? You have to come back to work alone? Beurk!

Dean B
Lotteries are a tax on poor people.
