Well I really hope that's why they did it (but it's unlikely). The pathetic excuse that they were insulted is an even worse reason.Just think, they cost the would a trillion dollars because their feelings were hurt. I'm a republican at heart, but I don't expect republicans to recover from this blunder for awhile.
Also, to the guy saying this was the worst dow drop in history, that's not exactly accurate. Though it was a the largest POINT drop in history, it is far from the largest percentage drop. Big difference (I just learned). Much more trading going on today than there was 30-40-50 years ago. So just like inflation, you have to adjust. |

Either way the stock market has plunged today & a lot of ppl lost jobs, today the stock market went down ALL TIME HIGH! whats the solution ? probably the best thing to do is to pass the 700Billion dollar check, what else can we do...each day we lost hundreds of jobs because business can't afford workers. |

No, I don't think they are that crafty. They realized this bailout would only help the fat cats on Wall Street while stiffing the rest of us who pay taxes. It was the right thing to do, the investors didn't like it in the markets, but we should be happy that they saved us a lot of tax money in the future. |
