ACTF (MWSEF back after summer)
Do you think the new bailout package?
is just a measure to calm emotions. Because there is so much fear about it not passing again that if it fails there will be mayhem. I just think way to much focus is being directed towards this deal happening.

I think it was an alright thing that it didn't pass the first time though. It is better that it be revised. The original plan had that money coming from us the tax payers. I hear that the revision may state that the money come from wall street. That is part of the reason that so many republicans voted it down. They wanted revision. I think that our government is trying diligently to improve out economy. You and I helped put those people in office so they would make these decisions for you and I. I'm going to let them and respect the decision they make. That's the point of government. I can't stand people who do nothing but bash the people in office. I'd like to see them step up to the plate and make these decisions and also deal with the criticism.

Listen, I don't think that we should be bailing Wall Street out b/c they made mistakes. If the bailout is done in a way to show that we are trying to prevent another depression, then it might work.

gobonzzo
The bailout is intended to fund the multimillion dollar bonuses of all the CEOs who are about to jump ship as their banks are taken over. The Congress is out to help their own and screw the stupid taxpayer.

starlove2
i think it's both to calm wall street and to try to work towards lowering the debt

Its trying to calm investors because we live in a system that is so screwed up that if the aforementioned investors are stressed, its you and me who lose money :)

pimpdg152
Well any type of Bailout Washington can come up with is only delaying the inevitable. There will be a depression whether this new bailout package passes or not...it's no longer a matter of if but, a matter of when.

It is a good thing because if we don't millions of people will lose there jobs and our economy will get closer to a big recession

It think that it is a bad idea. If you screwed up your company and then in turn our economy, you should not be reward it for it. All the big head-shot CEO are going to get paid with our tax money their regular salary, plus their bonuses. that's crap! and what guarantees that it will work and we will eventually get paid back. nothing does. a normal person with
33 million dollars would escape out the country were no one can find him/her and live a luxurious life. we really need to think this a lot before everything is approved.

if the bailout is approved and if the amount injected into the economy is not sufficient, who will provide the money back?

I think the panic is being generated by those who want the money. The people who made the bad deals should have to suck it up. Let their companies stock drop and get bought by another company. The fed needs to keep its hands off capitalism.

If the govt steps in they should buy the companies and hire a management team of proven, successful people to run them till this is passed us. They should then be actioned off like govt surplus items are with the money paying off the costs of buying them and being paid directly on the deficit.

It is buy some time for the old guard to load up their booty and get out of dodge. I cannot account for the U.S. Senate going against over ninty percent of american voters. over ninty percent oppose this bailout but they are about to vote and approve this gd abomination. i want their house of cards to fall before the election. this is a lot of debt but it is mainly a smokescreen to ease things for those who profited and were deeply involved with this robbery and colossal creation of public debt. damn their eyes. i am watching them milling around in front of the cspan cameras and they are all dressed in black and looking serious. they are traitors and deserve stern justice. it was so easy for them for so long. they must be tried and put on public display.

Rusty Crowe, in all his idiocy, has in fact made an astute observation of this crisis.
His plan is to give every American $1 million, that adds up to roughly $300 million, a hell of a lot less than $300 billion that the bailout plan is.
Now if everyone got a million, then just about everyones credit problems would be reduced or eliminated altogether.
The caveat is that greedy pigs who want to be very, very, stinking rich, have all got serious credit problems that bailout probably wouldn't help.
SO, if most of the poor working class, us, managed to get their head out of the "S" bend, then the only people left to suffer is the stinking greedy rich people who deserve to take a cut in profits, anyway.
The USA government is only supporting the rich by this bailout, which is doomed to fail, because it cannot sustain the huge credit bubble caused by the rich trying to get richer.
Stand up and demand social justice from a morally bankrupt government, that feeds off your taxes, then rips it off you, loses it, and then uses more of your future money to bail out the rich.
